More than Words

Written in one of the ladies toilet cubicle

The Star

Sometime out at sea, the sky is a complete darkness ... then when a star suddenly appear, I think of you ... because you have always been that star shining from the sky with or without other stars or the moon ...

This describes something that is closed to me but always up there far far away that you can't reach even though you know it's there.

Mayonnaise VS Tomato

1-side Mayonnaise & the other Tomato Sauce.

She sure knows how to enjoy her fries in a warm sunny afternoon.

Unproductive

I strongly define unproductive when I'm not doing anything!

Bumming around and meddling unimportant things!

Life becomes monotonous, colourless and in short meaningless without a goal!

Our Anniversaire

It's our 2nd Year Anniversaire since our traditional wedding & we both celebrated this day together with our Best of Best Friends, Zien & Sharon on their Joyous Wedding.

We didn't specially plan anything for this occasion. Just a sweet whispering saying "Happy 2 Yrs Anniversaire" and not forgetting our tradition, scribbling on each other's forehead expressing "I Love You".
Note: Our Honey Celestine sure know how to do that too!

My ideal plan was to order a cake from the hotel but it was not available as those cakes left on the showcase came in pieces but not a whole. At that time, one of the hotel coordinator who was trying to be helpful by telling Z&S that they can probably do something for us. That was to specially bake a cake for I & Hubby. Thereafter, would deliver to the couple's suite at 11pm. By then, I can expect the cake.

Guess what, we were in the couple suite after midnight, even though the groom was deadly drunk but he reminded me of "my arrangement". I was like "Oh ya, I almost forgot about the cake". I went to the 1st fridge, no cake! 2nd fridge, NO CAKE AGAIN!

I was upset as I ended the night without executing my simple plan. If I know the hotelier was unable to fulfill their promise, I would have another plan. But the night was coming to an end. This anniversaire was a busy hectic day for hubby as he needed to attend a business seminar which was mandatory. So there wasn't any candle-lit dinner or anything. That's the reason why was I being so peculiar about this plan.

I did express my unhappiness and disappointment to Z&S's wedding planner and they were apologetic for this unplanned arrangement. The wedding planner was good enough to offer another anniversary cake for us but like I said to her, I'm not begging her for anything but just like to highlight to her the service and treatment that the hotel has provided. If they are unable to fulfill any arrangement, never over promise and created unnecessary unhappiness from guests.

Late at night, I received a call from the groom, he passed a message on behalf of the hotel that they are giving Hubby and myself a complimentary dinning experience on Valentine Day to compensate us on the unpleasant experience.

And next, I'm expecting our Anniversaire celebration with Hubby, together with Z&S again.

Vintage

I never thought of buying a vintage handbag until I shop upon this store by the name of Deja Vu, www.dejavuvintage.com

Did I pick a Bluish Checked Vintage or a Brown Lacy Vintage?

My 1st choice was the Bluish Checked until I saw the Brown. The Bluish Checked is funky and retro. Goes well with all my dresses. The Brown is classy. The IT bag for any cocktail event. Just too bad, there were some scratches on the Brown lacy leather which is at the back of the handbag. Something that I can't accept. So my final pick which was my initial love is the Bluish Checked.

Foot the bill and my first vintage bag that is 20 years old cost me S$139.

How Old Is Too Old for a Pacifier?

Some said it's better to wean our child before the age of 3.

Some said it's better not to start in the first place.

No one is right or wrong.

It's a matter of choice. Often, I depend on the situation. I just don't like the idea of this weaning issue to become a major battle. After all, what's wrong of her to enjoy the comfort of her binky pacifier. As far as Honey Celestine understands, she is not allowed to have her pacifier in the school. I will keep it that way. But once she's back from home, she will ask for it again. At times, I tried to reject or even distract but she is so single-minded that she only
focus on nothing except her pacifier. I thought weaning Honey Celestine off her pacifier through encouragement. I guess it wouldn't work either.

Until one particular unnoticed Saturday night, 09 Jan 2010, Honey Celestine vomited due to her bad cough. Her dolly was dirty and her pacifier which dropped off from her mouth due to the vomit was dirty too.

I explained to her that since both dolly and pacifier were dirty, Mummy gotta washed them. She nodded.

On this night, she slept without cuddling her dolly and her binky pacifier.

Next day, I'd a silly idea.

How about dropping her 2 pacifiers into my cup of coffee?

Trust me, she hates coffee and the thought of having her 2 pacifiers in the coffee would probably work miracle.

Well ... guess I don't have to spell it out.

Yes, I was right!

On this day, 09 Jan 2010 (Saturday), she has finally wean off totally.

Today is the 5th day! She did not ask about her pacifier. No longer. We won this battle! Of course, I know this act is good for her and her emerging tooth. Sweat no more ...

So where are her 2 pacifiers?

Food Poisoning

On the 1st day of New Year 2010, I'd massive vomit on the night when I got back from Desaru. Practically, what goes into the stomach, will come out any minute! Hubby on the other hand, had a bad diarrhoea. He was not feeling good at all!
Honey Celestine vomited due to a cough that triggered it. Nothing serious at least.

The whole ordeal took us both a day to recover. We were guilty for neglecting Honey especially we both were so sick that we couldn't get up. For all I could recall was having Honey Celestine sitting on my tummy while mummy doze off to her dream land.

All thanks to my mum for assisting us. Without her babysitting Honey Celestine, I doubt I can recover at such a rate especially my gal needed all the attention from me!

What a year to begin with?

My 2009 in Retrospect

Take a trip down to memory lane with Dreamy Christmas to look back and recall ...
Feb 2009 ~ Accomplished 200 entries of my Dreamy bloggie. Expecting a Wedding Bell in 2010, from my best friend, Sulin & Allan. What a touching proposal - That's not all ... the proposal was priceless. Congrats!
Mar 2009 ~ Another Wedding Bell on Jan 2010 from my best friend, Sharon & Zien. My first time to everything. My 1st ride with Honey Celestine, our 1st excursion to The Science Centre and my 1st warning bloggie to protect the interest of those girl friends around me, my 1st time to declare that I'm a "Beer-coholic". My 10 years ago, hidden secret that never meant to disclose was unfolded. Thank God that I'm blessed with a good hubby who is always there for me to protect me. His words are critical yet I know he cares! And we all care about The Earth too that's why The World unite to support The Earth Hour.
Apr 2009 ~ This is the month when I celebrated both Hubby & Honey Celestine's Birthday. Hai Tien Lou, Pan Pacific was our preferred choice!
May 2009 ~ My newborn nephew, Xavier Yeo was born on this date, 26-05-09, Tuesday at Mount Alvernia. Hubby deem this is the only hospital that consider to be holy and peaceful. Who knows my next delivery is expected to be at Mt Alvernia. Talking about delivery, let me rejuvenate my health. Allow me to run more. I often toy around the idea of jogging in Melbourne during winter with my beloved Hubby. This thought often came to mind even when I was running a 2-hr session with him. What to do when my indulgence for Ben & Jerry takes off. I crave a lot & run a lot. In a sense, it balance off. On the other hand, my sister, Charlotte Kelly fainted. She was admitted to the hospital. That made everyone worried sick. (FYI - Dec 2009: She fractured her ankle).
Jun 2009 ~ Our 1st rejection when Celestine refused to shop with us. My negative feeling towards a colleague who treated us badly. Farewell Forever to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. That's all for the negativity!
Back to my accomplishment - Completed my 1st full marathon of 42km. Rank 460.
Jul 2009 ~ Our new life begun after shifting to a new nest. Celestine started her playgroup. She's adjusting very well. Though at times she play truant. I was experiencing bad encounters on my job.
Aug 2009 ~ A productive week began not until Celestine was diagnosed with HFMD. Stupid doctor was unable to diagnose despite my several reminders and alarms. The silly ignorant doctor claimed that it was some rashes spreading around Honey's body. Anyway, he was blacklisted!!!
Sep 2009 ~ Do we miss out anything if life is without colours?
Oct - Dec 2009 ~ Dreamy Christmas took a long vacation from her Dreamy Bloggie.
& Now ~ The Year is coming to an end!
To recap, it's rather adventurous especially the people I'd met over the last 4 months. My life i a series of experiences, happening in perfect order.
If through sadness you can fix the future, then do it! But being sad doesn't fix the future.
I've learnt to take each step at a time. Challenges make me stronger. My encountered were all fearless. Before I put a full-stop to my Dreamy Bloggie for Year 2009, let me Wish Everyone A Joyous and Fulfilling Year 2010. May we all be blessed with new challenges and definitely let us grow in our own way. I wish hubby to be healthy and prosperous in every ways. Celestine to be healthy and joyful. Learning new things each day passes ... My family to be united as ever ...
Thank you for your support!

1 Productive Week

I'm blessed.

God has been very nice to me.

I quitted my job on a Monday and Wednesday, I got a new position as a Brand Manager.
(I got a job offer in less than 3 days)

I was offered with a good Marketing job which my passion has never faded. Settling well with tonnes of work especially on my first day.

Everyday has been fulfilling. To complete 3 proposals within a day is no problem for me. The only panicky moment, when our COO asked for a proposal to be given to him in half an hours time without any briefing or earlier noticed. The moment is to stay focus. No interruption and my thoughts just flow out naturally. At least, the nuts and bolts are there and ready to present to clients.
A day at work in the new company is all about fun and learning. The products and brands that I'm working on are superior. Though I know it's merely a week and too early to comments further but I'm sure I'm much happier than the formal. Our Marketing Manager, Lucia is ready to share her knowledge and is willing to guide. I can strongly give her a thumbs up as I know there are many Marketing Manager whom I used to work with were reluctant to share. It's either they are too picky on some things or they are just arrogant bunch of Marketeer. No doubts I have been a Marketeers all my life, I promise I have never been behaving like them. And I don't see a need to behave so shallow and selfish. It's always good to share yet learning new ideas from others too.
I have been working hard and I know this is a job that I need to be focused.
And now, I gotta get back to my work now ... see ya ...

2 weeks past ...

2 weeks past since our little Honey started playgroup.

I specially took 2 days leave from the company to accompany Honey to playgroup.

On her 1st day at The Moral ChildCare, Honey's eyes were sticked on me whenever I moved around. She was struggling when the teacher carried her away in my arms. She hits the teacher when they tried to remove her shoes. She became more possesive with her belongings. She cried and whined when her dolly was not around. She started to pull me to a chair and got me to sit down. She wants me to be there with her. All she wants is 'Mummy, be here with me'. But I know, I can't. My presence would stress her even more. The teachers were feeling uncomfortable. But I need to ensure that everything runs smoothly so that I can get back to work on the following. The last thing in my mind was not to over-stressed her. I don't want her to lose interest. I want to keep it that way ... preschool is a place for fun-learning.

I left without her knowing. I know my brain and heart were not functioning at that point in time. My heart was crying. Tears dropped. I can't help it. I know this little girl of ours has grown up. I know deep down in my heart, it's good for her. We are moving on the right track by enrolling her to a playgroup. She is exposing to more fun-loving children of her age.

And guess what, today is her 2nd week at playgroup. Finally, she has learnt to let go. To give mummy a hug and a goodbye kiss before mummy leaves for work. A flying kiss to each other before heading to work. She began to know playgroup was part of her daily routine.

Good to see the improvement.

Well done my little Honey!

What If? (Part 3)

Polling:

For those who picked
3. Take up the new challenge and succeed depends on yourself! You take charge! No Failure.

What If you fail?

You Fail, then you call it a day! That is to resign in your own fate! To quit at the end?

What If? (Part 2)

What If your boss change his strategy? Again? Yes, Again!

What If your boss ask how are you able to value-add to the company?

What If your boss does not tell you his plan and wants you to tell him what can you do to help?

What If your boss wants you to tell him your strength & weaknesses?

What If you are not suitable based on your strength and weaknesses to match the new assignment that he gives?

Polling:
1. Resign on your own accord since you know you can't deliver.
2. Take up the new challenge even though you know there are many hurdles along the way & succeed or not, it's far beyond to realise.
3. Take up the new challenge and succeed depends on yourself! You take charge! No Failure!
4. Sack him & FxxK off!

What If?

What If your boss tells you that You are of NO-VALUE to the company?

What If your boss tells you that You are REDUNDANT to the company?

What If your boss tells you that You are NOT CONTRIBUTING to the company?

What If your boss tells you that Your 'Fxxx Axx' is at stake?

P.S: With confusing directions and boss who does not know what he wants, do you think you are to be blame for the above?

A New Nest

Tomorrow, 04-07-09 is the day! The day we are shifting house from Aljunied Crescent to my formal place at Bukit Batok.
Instead of staying with my mother-in-law, now I'm about to stay with my parents once again.
It's challenging for us cuz we need to shift most items from a house to a room.
I need mum's help. She has to vacant part of the store room just to make way for my heels. As I counted yesterday, there are 40 pairs exactly. Not too many for a woman because I know there are friends who have 80 pairs to 100.
I'm going to miss my Aljunied house and welcome a new nest.
It's almost a year since we bought this house and now, gotta handover to another owners. I will always remember you. Our hardwork!
Bye forever ... You are always in my mind.

What A Day!

This morning was not a day for me!

My heel's strap torn and I actually wanted to wear for a company function this evening.

Next, the strap on my mobile holder just break.

Then comes the next one when I reached office, I received an email from my boss. Commenting about my work which was not justifiable to my opinion.

Hope the rest of my day would not be as bad.

Daddy & Mummy's Little Honey

The time has arrived. Without us realising, our little Honey has already grown up with her own set of mind.

Note: She is only a toddler, 2 years 2 months old.

She is firm & decisive. I'd discovered when I was about to dress her and got ready to meet a girlfriend over the weekend for some shopping and dinner stuff. However, my little Honey just pushed my hands.

Honey Celestine: No, I don't want to go.
Mummy Fiona: Are you sure? Don't you want to follow ma ma? We are meeting Auntie Pearlyn.
Honey Celestine just go on and rejected me.
Honey Celestine: I want to follow Po Po, Grandma. I want to stay here.
Well, I just turned around and looked at hubby. At that instance, we just realise our little gal has grown up. She has her own set of mind. Her own desire to do what she wants.
I seriously have no idea if allowing her to make her own decisions at this fragile stage, would she results in any repercussion during her youth and adulthood?
I'm beginning to feel, an endless responsibilities piling on me, as a mother. Every encounter is a challenge and we as a parents must learn to handle and take charge. Of course, very much depending on how a parents want to instil on their child.
Like I say, every encounter is a learning experience and I just have to trial and explore. No one is perfect and I'm just doing what a mother should do.
Bless me.

Bleeding

My back is bleeding profusely!

Why?

Because, I was back-stabbed by someone. Not quite done yet. In fact, the back-stabbing is a daily affair. It may not happen to me this time round, but could be someone else.

I'm puzzle.

Why would someone wanna do that?

Doubts me.

Imagine, you are spending most of your time together, in theory, you should be much closer than your next kin but why is it not?

What's the motives behind?

Well, "You're" already the apple of his eyes and by doing all these means "you" are trying to get rid of us? "Your" words hurt. It takes us lots of effort to counter-reacte. Wasting our energy to protect ourselves which I think it's damn waste of my time. Every encounters with "you" would end up sending ourselves to the grave.

Mind "you", I'm a fighter and ain't a pushover!

I can rataliate anytime and I'm not a bimbo. I know what can be done and not. I take pride in my job and "you" as someone who doesn't know anything about Sales & Marketing, please step back. Don't step on my tail! You are just wasting my time and energy. Remember, I'm not here to take over your role as "someone important" but to deliver my role & responsibilities.

This is frustrating!

Karma ...

KING OF POP DIES

Michael Jackson, 1958 - 2009

This Legendary King of Pop dies at the age of 50 before his London Comeback tour.

The other day, I was on the cab listening to the radio channel and the DJ was just mentioning about MJ. His famous everlasting songs like Billie Jean, MoonWalk that makes me wanna dance again.

His song, Heal The World touch my heart and soul. This song remind ourselves to be nice to the people around us, the animals we care and the little children we love.

I was shocked this morning when I open the laptop to see the news blasting everywhere. I just can't believe. No doubt he wasn't my favourite singer but I must admit some of his albums are enchanting.

It's a pity to see a legendary icon is gone and it's forever.

Let's pay a tribute to him. Just for the last time.

May You Rest in Peace, Jacko

Bed time conversation with this young lady, Honey Celestine.
Honey: Ma Ma, take bus, find Po Po (Grandma).
Before I can answer, she cont'd ...

Little Honey will go on & on until she cont'd her next topic.
Honey: Good night Ma Ma, Good night Dad Dad, Good night Po Po (Maternal Grandma), Good night Gong Gong (Grandpa), Good night Rocher (Our Doggie Rocher), Good night e, i, e, i, o (Old Mac Donald's Farm), Good night Doll Doll (Her favourite cuddy Dolly), Good night Pink Pink (Her favourite Pinky Dolly), Good night Nai Nai (Paternal Grandma).
Finally she stops ... to cont' her next version ...
Honey: Morning Ma Ma, Morning Dad Dad, Morning Po Po (Maternal Grandma), Morning Gong Gong (Grandpa), Morning Rocher (Our Doggie Rocher), Morning e, i, e, i, o (Old Mac Donald's Farm), Morning Doll Doll (Her favourite cuddy Dolly), Morning Pink Pink (Her favourite Pinky Dolly), Morning Nai Nai (Paternal Grandma).
You can imagine she has been doing these for the whole week. Though I can anticipate what's she going to say but quite frankly, I do enjoy every moments of this. This is so heavenly. Our little honey is communicating with us. Each night, every day. Yet, I'm not tire.
Every moment with her is precious. All I can do is to pay it forward! Hubby planted lotsa of kisses to me & I shall plant all the kisses to our little honey Celestine.

Lady Bird

Old-style Ladybird books are word perfect

The Peter and Jane stories of the 1960s taught millions of children including myself to read before more falling victims progress to other methods in schools. Now the Ladybird series may hold a lesson for today's generation after a study found that children need to master only 100 words before they can move on to books.
Academics at Warwick University said that teachers were wasting time getting children to learn more words. Instead, just as in the Peter and Jane books, children should master the 100 most common English words and then learn others by reading a wide range of stories. The Government's literacy strategy requires children to learn 158 words by the age of 7. But the 1 million study by Jonathan Solity and Janet Vousden, of the Warwick University Institute of Education, found that only 100 of the most common words were needed to tackle any book, including adult fiction and non-fiction.

Ladybird's Peter and Jane

Let me try to hunt for the books again. Can anyone tell me where to buy?

There's a kind of magic that takes place when you run at night.

You See: Lights in the Dark

You Hear: Your footsteps, Your heartbeat

You Smell: The scent of the fresh night breeze

You Touch: The coolness of the air

You Taste: The nearing victory of completing your run

This is my biggest achievement. To complete my 1st full-marathon, though, it was far from my target completion time of 5 hours but for a starter like me would consider good enough. Training only began like 2 months before the actual date. Every session was like 1 to 2 hours, so having to complete the whole race like 7 hours was amazing.

To add more spices to this, I was working at a Food Fair on the same day of the race. Only managed to get some time off from my boss so that I would have ample rest before the run. For all I can remember, the whole day was pouring water to my throat. Kept hydrating! From 100 plus to H2O then to Ice-Milo, Bananas, Chocolate to save more energy.

To end our race, I & Hubby were holding hands and sprung our pace to the victory.

A kiss from hubby to end the race.

I'd accomplished my race! Yes, I did it again.

My Dosage of Ben & Jerry

Sitting at my desk waiting for a colleague to bring my tub from Ben & Jerry's!

I had a horrible tastless fishy fishball noodle that spoilt my afternoon. To remove the fishy taste within my mouth, I gotta put something to camouflage the bad breath! Hope the sweet-bud would work miracle!

Oh gosh...the first thing in mind is to get my dosage of Ben & Jerry again...even though, I know I had one last week :)

Can't be bother with the weight gain cuz I'm sure this evening jog will burn part of the calories and coming Friday, the nite jogging with Hubby is going to make wonder for me. Don't believe? Try to run 2 hours and you see the result :)

So another tub is alright at the moment. "Good luck to me"!!!

Monday Blue

Today is definitely not a smooth day especially on a Monday.

Boss doesn't understand my message & pushing me for sales was inevitable but doesn't understand my strategy was even tougher.

Making sales call was bad!

Meeting nasty client who snapped at me!

Making me feel so blue on a Monday ...

Until I received this from hubby:

Always feel great to see hubby's email ... & I smile instantly ...

Latest Update

My sister who was admitted to the hospital, has already discharge this afternoon.

Her throat is still pain and that makes talking more difficult. Her result showing could be due to virus and fever. No significant sign.

I was asking if she's suffering from any 'swine' and does she need to be quarantine?

Hope she has a speedy recovery.

Fainted

11-05-09, Monday
My 2nd-sis was fainted in the office. Mum called to inform me at 5:30pm. Brother-in-law, Ignatius who was at Tampines was rushing down to Raffles Place where my sister works. Before anything happen, I rushed down in the middle of my work. By the time I got to her office, I was told she has already admitted to the A&E at Singapore General Hospital by the ambulance.
Visiting a patient at the hospital is more hassling than ever before. Everyone has to register at the counter, informing the nurse who are you visiting and temperature check is compulsory. A face mask is given before you enter to the main hall. Per visit of a patient is only limited to two, that means you must take turn to visit friends or family members. The whole process was executed in a mannerly way.
Except 1 particular nurse who was temperamental and frowning when I checked with her with regards to my sister's condition. I was rather pissed off by her attitude but then again, I tried to cool off to remind myself that people has bad days too. She was behaving like that because of the swine flu and the pressure she has to face in her daily work in this fast-moving department. All patients needed her care and her attention.
Sisters were calling me to check out my sister's condition but no answer from any doctor. She was kept under observation and to see how her body reacte to the medication that the doctor has injected. We would know in 1 or 2 hours time.
By the time I left the hospital with Hubby, it was already 10:30pm and no report was out yet. My sister's cell-group leader and her hubby were waiting.
I hope my sister is well and she can discharge from the hopsital by today.

18 Days Before My 1st 42KM

Yes, been training quite a lot these couple of weeks. Running to strengthen my stamina in order to conquer my 1st 42 km full marathon.
I have no idea how long would I need to run to complete the whole race but i'm well prepared to stroll in the middle of the journey.
The other day, just completed a 2-hrs session with Hubby, exploring different places around the Western part of Singapore. Places that we have not explored.
It was a crazy proposal during the run that I shared with Hubby. "When our little Honey grew up, let's run across Melbourne. It is my dream to run along Great Ocean Road or if not, a run during the winter in Melbourne is just fine".
Oh dear, what was I thinking?
Just a crazy thought!

Mother's Day @ The Botanical Garden

It's just a normal Sunday affair. Woke up in the morning and brought our little Honey for a breakie at the coffee shop. As usual, we ordered siew mai (Cantonese) and milo for Honey & I to share.

Hubby was reading his usual Sunday Times while Honey & I relaxed. Everything was normal. Nothing special about this day except that we bought mum a stalk of carnation. Seriously, I can't really recall when was the last time I presented a carnation to her. Shame on me. :p
In the afternoon, we went to St James Church to witness a friend's wedding. It was a simple church wedding with family and close friends. Basically the whole process took at least an hour and refreshment was free & easy.

Since the day is still young, we decided to head to Botanical Garden and to bring our girl to Jacob Ballas Garden where it belongs to the little children's paradise. I took the chance to remove my 3 and 1/2 inches of heels. Walking barefooted in the garden.

Believe me, it was good to walk barefooted once a while. It's so comfortable and a natural foot massage with pebbles on the floors and soaking into muddy water to give an instant moisture to the feet. But then again ... never forget to scrub your feet once you get home. Ignore the staring from the strangers ... they are just weirdo and someone who doesn't know how to relax and embrace the surroundings. They think you are crazy but just IGNORE! Ignore them and you have fun!

And so, this was me, barefooted...pushing my little Honey's pram around the garden.
