Step Out

Bye to my primitive era and Welcome my new shopping exploration.

I called myself a traditional shopper who prefers to shop at the retail. Foray at the shopping mall in search of dresses, shoes and books. The sense of touch and sight is important. Exactly, this is what most women do!

But then again, I have stepped out of the well and all ready to make my first purchase through the net. Yes, my first online purchase! I was skeptical at the beginning, wondering what if I made payment and nothing was sent to me? What if the bills end up in a hefty sums? What if the items I had purchased wasn't up to my expectations? What if and what if ... never ending ... the convincing thing is purchasing online is only when you can't get the thing in your own country. If you can, why bother to shop online?

So where's my first stop?

It all started this way, when I was browsing this webpage and happened to find this interesting book 'Retail Therapy' by Amanda Ford. Next, found myself scanning all the bookstores in S'pore. But none of them import this interesting book. Infact, I'm really desperate. My hubby was puzzled. What is this lady hunting again? What's so interesting about this book? Since couldn't find it over here but no choice gotta purchase from the net. This was how I got started.

So after all the troubles of registering the account and getting all user id ready and credit card on standby, I should be able to get my new purchase in less than 2 - 3 weeks.

Here comes my new purchase. Sound kiddish here but trust me, you will never know how I feel especially when I received the parcel from the postman. This is my first time!

Definitely looking for my new hunt again!

Run For Hope

Before the run! After the run!

Sunday - Run for Hope Marathon @ Sentosa
Supposingly, running for 8km but ended up running along the track of a 4km. It wasn't well-organised in the first place. Nonetheless, it was warm as everyone was running with a purpose.
We almost couldn't make it due to the heavy rain but thank God, we make it to the destination. As I guess most of us were quite reluctant to go. Anyway, that's not really the point. And we, among ourselves, my jogging/marathon buddies enjoyed the fun.
Hope to continue this spirit and to look forward to such rewarding events.
Next year, I would love to particpate again, of course with my honey in mind.

NOW

What am I doing in this middle of a lonely nite, where the wind from the spinning fan is blowing right infront of my face, drying my dampen hair after a long session of jog, when both hubby and honey are sleeping? Couldn't really get myself in a sleeping mode hence end up writing again!
Lately, getting the momentum to jog and not for a while but real long, I mean based on my standard. I'm trying hard to shed those ugly flabby fats that was since accumulated since the day I was preggie. To be honest, it takes lots of discipline and determination to achieve my acceptable weight. It's not easy as I have to shed 18kg. And now, I have 8kg more to shed. This is real tough for me. Oh please, this is torturing. But what to do? This is vinity. Not for anyone but myself. To feel good again. The joy when I could wear those small baby tee and those pre-preggie dresses which I bought a year ago. This is a celebration of life again!

Darwin? Hokkaido? Darwin? Hokkaido?

Natas Fair - The ultimate travel offers is here again.

It has became one of the activities that both hubby and I enjoyed. My sister and family are going to Spain and Portugal. So how about us?

Darwin or Hokkaido?
Please decide! We are still contemplating these 2 options.
Hokkaido - Northern part of Japan.
Darwin - Northern territory of Australia's Outback.

Both happen to be North.

Well ... what's the difference?

Hokkaido is synonymous with Winter, Snow, A Land of Hot Springs and Seafood. Nothing special. That's what I told hubby. It's going to be boring as the tour is packaged in such a way that you gotta travel in a group. The worst is, everyone is talking about it. The hot springs, the snow, the snowboarding, the Sunflowers, the Lavenders, the melon, the Sea Urchin and the ... the ... the ... Yep, most of the people is talking about it. I mean those who had travelled there. I guess we both share the same sentiment.
To be sure, we gotta get the agent to convince us. To see which destination is ideal for our next honeymoon in January 2008. Right after our Chinese customary wedding. Like I said, there are too many Singaporean out there is crazy about this country. It's not going to be special. I thought we wanna experience something which is a bit more adventure at least a memory that last a whole life.

Of course, we are not talking about countries like Bhutan, Shangri-la or The Silk Road. In the first place, hubby is not ready to be away from his job for more than a week and of course not leaving our little honey alone in Singapore. That's all we can afford for a getaway.

Next, Darwin.
What's so fantastic about this place?
Let me read. This is what I gathered.

A vibrant place, where in the space of a single day, like a charmeleon, the light on the landscape changes colour. Yet from the spacious beauty of the outback to the dense foliage of the tropics, each destination is unmistakably 'Territorian'.

Well, we reckon this destination is planned in a way where it will go according to our delights. We must do lots of research about this extraordinary place and what we are going to do? Plan the transportation. How to get there? Where to stay? etc ...
Interesting.

This is exactly what I wanted for a travel experience. Plan our own journey. That's what I did when I travel. Relax and wake up without running late for your next destination. No waiting for tour mates. Shorter queue for our next buffet feast. Basically, no accommodation needed.

So where do we start?
1st - Air Tickets [Sin - Darwin // Alice Springs - Darwin // Darwin - Sin]
2nd - Train Tickets [Darwin - Alice Springs]
3rd - Hotels and Camping Site {Optional}

One of the highlights is to view the spectacular light display of the sun's last rays on Uluru / Ayers Rock. Dine under a million stars at the award winning Sounds of Silence Dinner.

Seriously, I can't wait to fly there. To witness the galaxy of million stars twinkling.

The disappointing part is, we are unable to get the air-ticket to Darwin. Qantas ticket is only valid till Nov'07. The airfare for Jan'08 is not available for sale yet. Sigh!
Qantas is out. How about Tiger Airway - Budget Airfare? Let me check.

Hey, another suggestion that struck my mind. Yup, how about The Silk Road? Hmm ... today is the last day of the fair. Probably, we can try our luck after the run.

I hope we can settle this 'tour thing' by end month. So next, I can concentrate on my wedding preparation. The last qtr of the year is going to be fun and I can really expect lots of 'the unexpected'.

Yes, jia you and be prepared to be a lovely bride. Hee ...

16 Days

16 days without blogging were tremendously depressing. Am I insane or what? Nah ... of course I'm not and ain't trying to sound exaggerating over here. Just that I'm not feeling comfortable for not doing anything to my dreamy bloggie. Leaving it empty as the days fleet by.

A friend of mine has even proposed to update my bloggie on behalf. Well ... did he? Of course not. If so, my dreamy bloggie wouldn't be emptied for the past 16 days.

So what have I been doing lately? Well ... roaming around the small little island of Singapore. Huh what? Beg your pardon! Yes, driving around Singapore. This small little tropical island where I was born.

Anyway, it's hard to explain and I'm not going to elaborate more. It will take quite a while for me to pen down everything.

It's just a min passed. It's going to be 16 September, Sunday.
Expecting another marathon in a few hours time.

Run For Hope - Terry Fox Run
http://www.runforhopesingapore.org/

As usual, I'm running my own race and much shorter this time. It's a short distance of 8km. It's going to be fun as the route is taking place in Sentosa. http://www.sentosa.com.sg/explore_sentosa/attractions/images_singapore.html

Would I get the chance to update my dreamy bloggie? Yeah definitely. I will bring the camera along. By the way, the camera is always in my bag. Hee ...
OK! That's all for now folks. Let me surf the web before my next post.
See ya!
