Some said it's better to wean our child before the age of 3.
Some said it's better not to start in the first place.
No one is right or wrong.
It's a matter of choice. Often, I depend on the situation. I just don't like the idea of this weaning issue to become a major battle. After all, what's wrong of her to enjoy the comfort of her binky pacifier. As far as Honey Celestine understands, she is not allowed to have her pacifier in the school. I will keep it that way. But once she's back from home, she will ask for it again. At times, I tried to reject or even distract but she is so single-minded that she only
focus on nothing except her pacifier. I thought weaning Honey Celestine off her pacifier through encouragement. I guess it wouldn't work either.
Until one particular unnoticed Saturday night, 09 Jan 2010, Honey Celestine vomited due to her bad cough. Her dolly was dirty and her pacifier which dropped off from her mouth due to the vomit was dirty too.
I explained to her that since both dolly and pacifier were dirty, Mummy gotta washed them. She nodded.
On this night, she slept without cuddling her dolly and her binky pacifier.
Next day, I'd a silly idea.
How about dropping her 2 pacifiers into my cup of coffee?
Trust me, she hates coffee and the thought of having her 2 pacifiers in the coffee would probably work miracle.
Well ... guess I don't have to spell it out.
Yes, I was right!
On this day, 09 Jan 2010 (Saturday), she has finally wean off totally.
Today is the 5th day! She did not ask about her pacifier. No longer. We won this battle! Of course, I know this act is good for her and her emerging tooth. Sweat no more ...
So where are her 2 pacifiers?
