Blossoming Personality

My Little Precious Gem is 11th month old. Another 6 weeks to her 1st Birthday.

At this stage, she is developing her own personality. Call it adorable or amazing, the personality she's adopting may be a reflection of both hubby and I.

Her opinions to certain things can be very strong. What she wants may be expressed through certain forms. Things she likes and dislikes may be spoken to us in her own way.

Her possessive nature may be inherited from me.
Her impatience could be from the daddy.
She listens attentively when you read.
She watches you when you flip the flash card.
She understands when we praise her.
She whines when she's angry.
But never fail to bring a smile to your face.
& this is my little precious gem, Celestine.

Mini Picnic

Always wanted to bring my gal for a picnic and here I am, with my little angel.

This mini-picnic was an impromptu and all I can remember was to bring Honey's favourite 'Elmo Guitar' and her 'Discovery Farm Book' and not forgetting the necessities like milk powder, milk bottle, hot water for preparation of milk, cooling water, teething biscuit & etc ... Just dumped everything in a bag and here we are:

Precious Moments

My Lovely Precious Moments

This was my pick.

I wanted it to be printed on our Wedding Card.

Prosperity Pouch

A Prosperity Pouch was given to every couples in the family during the Tea Ceremony.
The gesture was to express our gratitude to our elders and to thank them for witnessing our wedding.

The Prosperity Pouch consists of 2 packs of Bee Cheng Hiang 'ba kwa'-Hokkein and also a following week of TOTO Jackpot Slip. Hopefully everyone got a chance to strike.

Blind Spot

I had a terrifying moment this afternoon when I was trying to flag a cab along the hustling & bustling street at Geylang. There was this taxi driver who had noticed me swerved towards my direction. He was in the middle of the road while I was standing along the first lane. Apparently, he did not signal his intention and worst of all he had forgotten to check the blind spot. That made things even worst.

You know what's next?

He crashed against a motorcyclist rider. The rider was hit but thank God he wasn't hurt. At least, no bleeding on the head or body. Probably around the wrist since I saw his watch dropped on the ground and he was rubbing his wrist for awhile.

As for the taxi driver, he alighted immediately to check the rider to see if he was hurt. But the side view mirror was crashed. The mirror was detached from the original position.

Oh gosh, the thing was ... I was standing right infront when the accident occured. I was almost hit and thank God, I was agile enough to step backward. If not, I would have landed in the hospital.

Goodness, I was dumbfounded and couldn't know what to do.

There were 2 durian sellers who were tending the store were asking me if I was fine.

All I said was, I wanted to flag a taxi.

The moment I boarded the taxi, tried to call my gal friend, Sulin about the whole incident.

Honestly, I was panicking.

If it wasn't me and if the taxi wasn't trying to swerve in my direction, he wouldn't have landed in this accident.

Bad luck.

Wedding Gown For Her

Did I choose my Wedding Gown to match His Tuxedo? or

Did he choose His Tuxedo to match my Wedding Gown?

There were simply too much fun before the Wedding Day.

One of the biggest fun was the gown selection.

I found myself drowing in choices and really lost touch to the number of gowns I'd wore.

Come to think of it, the Wedding Gown wasn't that difficult to pick. As I know what I wanted during my wedding.

Importantly, being the bride, you must know what you want and go for it. I don't want to end up with dwelling about not doing this or having it.

My requirement of Wedding Gown has to be long. Longer than we ever think. End up, my gown assistant had given me the longest Wedding Gown and according to them, this gown is the longest among all other boutiques around. I wasn't sure about it.

& so that was my choice:

Next, was the Evening Dress. There are so many colours and because of this, it made my selection even longer and tiring. Certain types of colour are not suitable.
Black is common.
Red is sinister.
Yellow is fun.
Pink is girly.
Blue, not my favourite colour.
Gold, wow too glittery.
Green, forested colour. I don't like.
Told you, what we see may not look nice on us after putting on.

Believe me ... I spent almost 2 hours just to pick an evening dress. Almost wanted to give up.

Finally, chosen a Lavender Evening Dress. Think this matches my skin tone at least well enough.

My Cocktail Dress which I brought along to our Bali Honeymoon.

Last, my traditional kua

HAPPY VALENTINE DAY

HAPPY VALENTINE DAY
This was a simple day for us.
Perhaps it's a day to declare our love & to shower gifts to our lovely partner.
However, both hubby & I choose to remain simple on this day.
A day when he wants me to cook instant noodle and a fried egg. Yep, that's funny.
& I actually requested him to cook me a meal and this is something more memorable than anything else.
Well ... so sad, my request was not granted. That's fine.
I can always wait ... patiently, until the day when he cooks specially for me.
End up, we had a simple seafood dinner at Geylang with my parents-in-law and also with our little precious gem who was munching her teething biscuits.
Sounds romantic isn't it?
Haha ...
Hubby bought me my favourite box of chocolate from Royce and guess what I bought for him this year?
Got him a 'Majestic Bull' from House of Feng Shui.
Nah ... hubby is not into Feng Shui but I think because of his job nature and work seems to be at stake so having this Bull may booast his career.
The Majestic Bull is said to charge up the yang energies to break all sales records & achieve excellent returns from all his financial investments. A must have for those speculating in shares to enjoy a good run of wealth and windfall luck.
Well ... I hope with the Bull, hubby may enjoy good health & abundant wealth.

Men At Work

Thanks to my brothers for helping us on the Wedding Invitation Cards.

The guys were rushing to make sure we were on time to send out to all our guests.

To all friends who had received our invitation card, you will realise we have 2 inserts in the card.

One is an insert of the map to the hotel and another is a complimentary car pass to Sentosa.

It took us awhile to complete everything as we need to paste the map in one of the insert.
(Note: Cutting and pasting were all done by the men)

Zien helped us to print the map and wedding invitation card.

Zien in-charged of cutting Guan Zhou in-charged of pasting

& what was I doing?

Well ... obviously taking shots of the men.

Wedding Favour For The Children

A Gift For The Children to thank them for everything.
Without their innocent laughter and noises, what can a Wedding be? A quiet boring adults formal dinner? Nah ... that's not what we want.
So on this Special Day, we did not forget the kids. Besides a complimentary Wedding Favour from the hotel, we had specially prepared something for them.

2 Ferrero Rocher was wrapped in a wedding gift box

Lunar New Year Eve

06-02-08
A peek at my little honey.
This picture was taken on the eve of the Chinese New Year.
She was holding the camera holder.
Wondering what's on her mind?
My poor little gal was down with a fever. It took her almost 3 complete days to recover. There wasn't any sign of uncomfort.
Poor gal.
Her fever was so high that I held her hands and pray to our Lord Jesus. You must be thinking that I'm some sort of crazy or what but at that point when medicine doesn't seem to lower the temperature and sponging her with cooling water doesn't seem to help. That's the only way that I seek God's help.

Thank God that this little precious gem is as smiley and bubbly as before. Nothing changes.
Though she has recovered, but there were some red spot on her body. Took her to the clinic again and doctor has prescribed a medication for her.
The red spot is a common symptom especially for babies who have just recovered from a high fever. It's a viral rash but I'm don't know what is the actual terms for it.
All I care now, is to see my little precious gem grow well and healthily.
Honey,
Daddy & Mummy loves you.

Tuxedo For Him

Excuse me Sir ...
Tuxedo for you?
Yes this is what I want to see.

Special accessories tie with a black tuxedo makes him smarter and more manly.
(Honestly, I don't quite fancy the typical bow tie)

Well ... for all I know, hubby had changed quite a number of ties on The Wedding Day.

Due to the fact that there's nothing much on a man's coat. The only changes is to change the tie.

Before the Wedding Day, Hubby had been seeking my opinion on which tie to go with which coat. When should he change the tie and what colour goes well?

And so ... this is our final decision.

Traditional Chinese Betrothal & Marriage

'GUO DAI LAI' ~ Cantonese
stands for Betrothal before the Wedding

06-01-08, Sunday

This was the day when both side of the parents meet. Grand gifts are presented to the bride's family by the groom's family.

According to what I'd read from the net. This is a formal occasion where the two families officially acknowledge the marriage and give their blessing. The proposal gifts usually include token money wrapped in red packet and items such as tea, double happiness cake, pair of male and female poultry, sweets and sugar, wine and tobacco. The token money is usually $99 or $999 as the number NINE represents "forever" in Chinese culture. Tea is included as an important part of the gift because the two families wish the new couple to have as many descendants as the tea leaves. The total items of gifts should be even number. The bride's family will distribute the double happiness cake to relatives and friends as a form of announcement. Nowadays, both families send double happiness cakes along with wedding invitations. At this point, the two families will proceed to prepare for the wedding.

Dowry was presented to my parents by Hubby & his mum. Of course, we didn't follow everything as per the above listed. Just some of the basic that my mum had requested.

For the Bride's Family:

1. Double Happiness Cake - For All Family Members
(Specially requested from my sisters that they wanted Durian & Mango Cake from Angie The Choice)

2. Fruits like Apples x 6 nos., Oranges x 6 nos. & Pineapple x 2 nos
(Everything comes in even)

3. 2 bottles of red wine from Wold Blass

4. Dowry for Parents
(Comes in a form of red packet with sincere messages from Hubby to my parents)

For the Groom's Family:
1. Double Happiness Cake - For Parents
(From Angie The Choice again)

2. 2 bottles of F&N orange

3. Apples x 2 nos. & Oranges x 2 nos.
(To return the kindness with sweet beverages)

On top of that, the bride's mum will present some gifts to the groom. Usually the gifts are standard like a belt, a pair of trouser, a wallet and a wedding ring.

From my understanding, the bride's mum will make all the purchases. But in our case, my mum gave us the money and got Deon to do his own shopping. It's much appropriate to buy what Deon likes.

So end up ... a few weeks before the Special Day, hubby & I went hunting for all his stuff.

Last but not least, on this Guo Dai Lai, I had my hairdo again. This time, was just a bit of trimming and colouring. 2 weeks before our big day.

Our Wedding Feast

The banquet was a great success.

The feast on the Day was good. That's the comments we gathered. Good and filling.

This was important. We hope everyone had enjoyed the food as much as we did.

Though on Our Special Day, both hubby & I didn't get the chance to grab a bite.

Nevertheless, I have proposed to hubby that I wanna go back for the same feast again. Not anytime from now but probably our next Anniversary. Hee ...

Below are the following dishes that were served at Our Banquet. Enjoy ... Yummylicious ...

Dish 1: Rasa's Wedding Appetizer Platter Dish 2: Braised Sharks's Fins with Crabmeat

Dish 3: Golden Roast Duck with Vegetable Crackers
Dish 4: Steamed Live Seabass with Superior Soya Sauce

Dish 7: This dish was replaced to Steamed Glutinous Rice wrapped in Lotus Leaf

To ask me again, if I would choose the same Wedding Feast.
My answer ...
