The Anaemic Me (19 weeks + 2 days)

Had my ultra-sound scan last Friday, 17 November 06 & the gynae explained to me that I'm anaemic which means iron deficiency.
Based on my blood test, the haemoglobin levels are slightly lower than the average. According to my gynae, it's normal for the levels to drop a little during preggie...
Of cos...my only concern is to ensure that my food intake has to be rich in iron. So now getting my mum to prepare some nice dishes for me.
Could my being anaemic affect my baby's health? www.babycentre.co.uk
You don't need to worry about your baby. Your body will make sure that she gets her quota of iron before you get yours. So you'll be short of iron long before she is. Your baby makes the heaviest demands on your iron suppliers in the middle of pregnancy, so this is the time to take extra care of yourself.
The worst thing is the after effect of the iron pills. Whenever I burp, there's always the smell of the iron in my mouth. I felt so disgusted. What can I do? Just have to be good to ensure my baby princess gets her iron intake.
